The North Cyprus Bangladesh Community, an organization of Bangladeshis living in North Cyprus, welcomed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on a two-day visit to North Cyprus on the occasion of the 47th Peace and Independence Day of North Cyprus. The reception was held at the country’s Irkan Airport on Monday, July 19.

It is learned that all types of public except passengers have been banned from entering the Irkan airport area of North Cyprus since March last year. Later, on the occasion of President Erdogan’s visit on July 19, some special social and state organizations were allowed to enter the airport area with the permission of the government.
One of the organizations that got permission was the North Cyprus Bangladesh Community, an organization of Bangladeshi expatriates.
After receiving permission from the organization, Bangladeshi expatriates living in the country went to Erkan Airport to receive President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At that time, the sound of Bangladesh Bangladesh was heard in the airport area and around the vehicles carrying President Erdogan.
A large number of North Cyprus expatriate Bangladeshis, including leaders of the North Cyprus Bangladesh community, were present at the reception, maintaining hygiene and social distance.
President of North Cyprus Bangladesh Community Mohammad Ismail Bhuiyan told this correspondent in a messenger message that the presence of Bangladeshis including esteemed leaders of North Cyprus Bangladesh Community at the reception was eye-catching.
He expressed hope that the image of Erkan Airport Bangladesh Bangladesh sounding to welcome Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has come up in the local and international media. This is expected to bring more friendly and better results to Bangladeshis living in Bangladesh and North Cyprus in the future.
