Rajpara police have arrested two brothers in Rajshahi along with 218 pieces of Tapentadol tablets. They were detained from the roof of the microstand on the south side of the external department of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Sunday.
The arrested are Mohammad Hamim, 26, and Mohammad Faruk, 30, sons of Mohammad Moksed Ali of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Sub-Depot Quarters of Rajpara Police Station.
This information was given in a notification on Monday. It is said that SI Md. Maklesur Rahman and his team of Rajpara police station in Rajshahi metropolis were conducting mobile and special operation duty in Rajpara police station area since Sunday morning.
At that time, on the basis of secret information, it was learned that two persons were selling illegal drug Tapentadol in the tent room of the microstand on the south side of the external department of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital of Rajpara Police Station.
Following the news, a team of Rajpara police arrived at the spot at 6 pm and arrested the two while fleeing. At that time, 218 pieces of Tapentadol tablets were recovered from the possession of the two arrested accused.
Legal action has been taken against the two accused.
It is to be noted that the government has published a gazette declaring the national drug ‘Tapentadol’ used as an analgesic as a drug. It has been included as a ‘B’ class drug as drug addicts use such drugs as an alternative to drugs.
