Three kidnappers arrested in Panchagarh

District police have arrested three abductors in connection with the abduction of a woman named Monira Akhter (23) in Panchagarh. The abduction took place at 11.30am on Sunday (August 8) in front of the DG Care Clinic on Tentulia Road in the city.

The three arrested are Nuruzzaman, 36, son of late Tamiz Uddin Ahmed of Kayetpara area of ​​Panchagarh town, Tareq Hossain, 28, son of Abdur Salam and Farhad Hossain, 20, son of Shah Alam.

According to police sources, Monira was taking food to the patient’s relatives at the DG Care Clinic in Panchagarh on Sunday (August 8) at 11:30 am. At that time, three kidnappers abducted him and took him to an unknown place.

The kidnappers later demanded five thousand rupees from the victim’s father, again demanding money. Victim’s father informs his son-in-law (Victim’s brother-in-law) if the situation seems abnormal. When the victim’s brother-in-law immediately informed the Panchagarh district police, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Yusuf Ali directed Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) SM Shafiqul Islam to rescue the victim.

Under the immediate direction of Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration), Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Md. A. Latif Mia and a vigilant team of District Intelligence Branch including District Intelligence Branch Inspector Abdur Razzak came together to rescue the victim.

The kidnappers rescued the victim in good health using modern technology using money and mobile phone sources and arrested three members of the kidnapping ring.

Panchagarh Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Latif Mia confirmed the arrest of the three abductors and said a case of abduction and ransom had been filed against them. They were sent to jail by the court on Monday (August 9) morning.
