Rajshahi District Awami League President and former Member of Parliament (Paba-Mohanpur-3 constituency) Bir Muktijoddha Alhaj Meraj Uddin Mollah has died of old age.
He died at Bangabandhu Medical University around 9:30 pm on Sunday (May 9).
The matter has been confirmed by Kazi Abdul Wadud Dara, general secretary of Rajshahi district Awami League and former MP of Rajshahi-5 (Puthia-Durgapur) constituency.
He said he was about 6-7 years old. Besides, water was frozen in his lunch. Doctors also took out his lunch water, but he could not recover due to his physical disability.
He added, ‘Meraj Mollah was initially attacked by Corona but later it came back negative. Even later, the corona virus was not detected in his body.
However, Rajshahi district Awami League president Meraj Uddin Mollah was identified as Kovid-19 on April 28. He was later admitted to Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital. He was being treated first in a cabin and later in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Later, when his condition deteriorated, he was transferred from Ramek Hospital to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in Dhaka. He later died while undergoing treatment there.
District Awami League general secretary Meraj Mollah expressed grief over the death and prayed for forgiveness for his soul. He also wished well to his bereaved family.
