One thousand masks have been distributed among the common people in Sunamganj as a health protection material to raise awareness on the first day of a severe lockdown like the rest of the country to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

Sunamganj Municipality Mayor Nader Bakhat distributed the masks at 11 am on Thursday at the initiative of Sunamganj Municipality at the city’s Municipal, Traffic Point, Madhyabazar, Paschimbazar, Surma Market and Fish Market. Mayor Nader Bakht said, “The incidence of corona virus has increased all over the world. We Bengalis are not terrified as a nation of heroes, but the impact of this has been felt in Bangladesh.

In addition to alerting everyone to the effects of a corona virus called Delta Plus in neighboring India, he advised everyone to use health protection masks and sanitizers.

He further urged the municipal residents to clean their hands against this corona virus and not to go out without any urgent need.

He assured that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government would provide double meals to the low-income people in the lockdown.
