Mobile phone and flexi trader Md. Zahidul Islam (25), son of late Siddique Talukder of Madhya Nalbunia village in Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat district of Bangladesh on June 8, 2005 at around 10:00 pm The forces along with Bachchu, Monir, Gaffsadhar; Far, Zakir and a few other terrorists killed in a pre-planned manner.
Mr. Pankaj Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (A) led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (AGP) working at the Crime Branch Police Station, Delhi, after the execution accused Masum was informed to the Indian Crime Branch Police Station, Delhi by the International Police (Interpol) Bangladesh-based (GHC) officers. A group of vigilante officers including Ashok Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Rajiv Kumar, ASI Binoy Kumar and Veer Singh arrested Masum, the main accused in the murder case from Khanpur T Point in Delhi on December 25, 2020 and sent him to Delhi Jail.
According to the sources of the incident and the murder case document, on the night of June 6, 2005, Jahidul did not go home from his business establishment, so his relatives and neighbors called his mobile phone number after much searching. The next day, on June 6, at around 4:30 pm, people came to know that Jahidul’s body was lying in a field in central Nalbunia.
Immediately, Jahidul’s father and other relatives rushed to the field and saw Jahidul lying naked with his hands and legs slaughtered by a sharp weapon. Upon receiving the news, Sharankhola police recovered Jahidul’s body and sent it to Bagerhat morgue for autopsy. On that day, June 8, 2005, Md. Siddiqur Rahman, the father of the deceased Jahidul, became the plaintiff and filed a written statement with the Sharankhola Police Station accusing 5 people including Masum. Case No. 08 of Sharankhola Police Station, dated 06/07/05, Section 374/302/34. The case was handed over to the then SI Md. Abdul Baten for investigation. The investigating officer seized all the evidence of the murder case and recorded the inquest report of the autopsy and the statements of the plaintiffs and witnesses under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Before the murder case was filed, the accused Masum and his accomplices fled to different areas including Dhaka, Khulna and Chittagong. Several months later, police officers from different police stations arrested all the accused from different areas and sent them to jail through the Bagerhat District Wise Judge. The accused Gangra was later released on bail from the high court and stayed at their respective homes and was charged with murder
Accused Masum fled to neighboring India. The rest of the accused were acquitted by the high court. However, Alamin Dhali alias Kali Alamin, Liton Dhali, Rahim Dhali and Md. Alamin Masum, members of the Indian Brokers’ Circle, have been making recommendations to various departments to get Indian citizenship to save them. Mumtaz Begum, mother of the deceased Jahidul, told the media, “I lost my child many years ago. No one understands the pain of losing a child in my bosom.”
The rest of the accused were acquitted by the High Court due to our financial difficulties. But they all brutally killed my child. My request to the government and the administration is to bring the main accused Masum back from India and bring all the accused to justice.
Asked about this, Bagerhat District Superintendent of Police Pankaj Chandra Roy told the media that the convict was sent back to Bangladesh.
Recommendations are being made through the International Police (Interpol) officials posted in Bangladesh. However, no issues can be disclosed until the full formalities are completed.
