After meeting the newly appointed Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shamim Alam and exchanging views with journalists, religious leaders and dignitaries, the Kuliyarchar Press Club welcomed the Deputy Commissioner with a bouquet of flowers and saw that there were no reserved seats for journalists. Later, the journalists present boycotted the meeting and left the conference room.

According to the journalists, after inviting the journalists and others through a letter signed by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rubaiyat Ferdousi, a place was reserved for the journalists but no place was reserved for the journalists.
