Aminur Rahman (Staff Reporter) Jessore:
The deceased has been identified as Zakia Khatun, 12, of Samashpur village under Payra union of Abhaynagar upazila of Jessore. The tragic death casts a shadow of mourning over the area.
Locals said Rabbi Goldar, 20, the eldest son of electrician Ziaur Rahman Goldar of Samashpur village in the upazila, threw bricks to kill a dog that entered the house on Friday afternoon. When the brick cob did not hit the dog, it hit the wall of the house and ran away and hit the head of his younger sister Zakia Khatun, who was standing next to him. He was taken to Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex with serious injuries.
Zakia started vomiting after being taken home after treatment. He was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition in the evening and died at night.
When this news spread in the area, the shadow of mourning came down. Pigeon UP chairman Vishnupad Dutt said the girl, a fifth-grade student, died after being hit by a brick thrown by her elder brother to kill a dog. Rabbi Goldar, the elder brother, is almost mad at the death of his beloved younger sister. Which is extremely painful.
