Former Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath has been appointed as the spin bowling coach of the Bangladesh national team.
A few days ago, there was a rumor that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is going to appoint former Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath to replace former Bangladesh national team spin coach Daniel Vettori. Finally that rumor is true! Herath will be the spin coach of the Bangladesh national team Shakib-Mehedi till the next T20 World Cup.
Before retiring from international cricket in 2016, Herath took 433 wickets in 93 Tests, 64 wickets in 61 ODIs and 17 wickets in 18 T20s. He was one of the members of the Sri Lanka team in the 2014 Twenty20 World Cup.
Besides the new spin coach, the Bangladesh Cricket Board also appointed a new batting coach on the same day.
The BCB has appointed South African cricketer Ashwell Prince as the batting advisor for the Bangladesh team for the upcoming Zimbabwe series.
