Freedom fighter Pulin Bihari laid to rest at Abhaynagar

A freedom fighter named Pulin Bihari Biswas (85) died after being attacked by corona in Abhaynagar of Jessore. He died at the Upazila Health Complex at around 5 am on Thursday. The body was cremated at Nawapara Mahasmashan this afternoon after being accorded state status.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son. He is the son of late Hridoy Nath Biswas of Kadirpara village in Payra union of the upazila.

Shah Farid Jahangir, Chairman of Upazila Parishad and Senior Vice President of Upazila Awami League, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Narayan Chandra Pal, Convener of Abhaynagar Upazila Muktijoddha Command Ali Ahmed Khan, OC of Abhaynagar Police Station AKM Shamim Hasan, Acting Editor of Daily Nawapara were present on the occasion. Sunil Das, Rajghat-Nawapara Industrial Branch Sramik League general secretary and former municipal panel mayor Robin Adhikari Bacha, Nawapara Mahasmashan Committee president Tapas Kundu and others. Bithika Biswas, eldest daughter of the late Pulin Bihari Biswas, said her father was working as AGM of Akij Jute Mill in Nawapara.

A few days ago, he got sick after having a stroke. If the corona is positive then he is admitted to the corona isolation ward of the upazila health complex. He breathed his last at about 5 a.m. Thursday.
