The SP (Admin and Finance) of the hospital confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post on Wednesday (March 24) at noon. Md. Emdadul Haque.
He said he (Habibur Rahman) was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday (March 23) with corona. His physical condition remains stable.
Habibur Rahman joined Bangladesh Police on 22 February 1996 as Assistant Superintendent of Police through the 18th BCS examination. Prior to becoming the DIG of Dhaka Range, he was the Deputy Inspector General (Administration-Discipline) at the Police Headquarters. He held several important posts in the Bangladesh Police. He has also served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dhaka District.
Habibur Rahman was promoted to Additional Assistant Inspector General (Establishment) at the Police Headquarters.
In the Savar Veda, he became widely known through a number of social activities, including the transformation of rural life and the enlightenment of the hijra community. He has played a role in building schools, computer training centers, driving training centers and boutique houses and preventing child marriage.
Habibur Rahman played a role in the establishment of the Bangladesh Police Liberation War Museum and is serving as its President. He has written a book titled ‘First Resistance in the War of Liberation’ about the contribution of the police force in the war of independence of Bangladesh and their first resistance in Dhaka.
He arranged for the rehabilitation of hijras in social scholarship. He launched the ‘Uttaran Employment Training’ program and set up an organization called Uttaran Foundation to improve the living standards of the hijra and backward communities.

Habibur Rahman is serving as the General Secretary of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation. He has also been elected Vice President of the Asian Kabaddi Federation at the Asian Games in Jakarta.
