Mehdi Hasan Miraj and Shakib Al Hasan’s spin whirl all out Zimbabwe. At the end of the third day, the visiting Bangladesh is ahead by 237 runs.
Hosts Zimbabwe got off to a great start by batting at the start of the third innings of the Test in Harare today. Two unbeaten batsmen, opener Kaitago and captain Brendon Taylor’s second wicket partnership of 105 runs in the first session, Bangladesh suffered a lot in Zimbabwe. However, Tiger spinner Mehdi Hasan put an end to this terrible pair by returning Taylor for 81 runs.
The young opener Kaitago made another pair of 49 runs by accompanying Meyers to bat for four. However, Shakib brought the light of the match to himself by returning Meyers for 27 individual runs. Maruma and Kaira could not settle for wickets after the departure of Meyers. When both of them called back, Shakib and Taskin brought all the light of the match to themselves. However, in the afternoon, Kaitago and Chicava faced the test of Bangladeshi bowlers, but Mehedi Hasan Miraj’s bowling cannon returned to the dressing room with 87 runs. Mehdi Hasan dismissed four of the last five batsmen for 276 runs.
In the end, Chikava remained unbeaten on 31 runs due to lack of qualified partner. For Bangladesh, Mehedi Hasan took 5 wickets, Shakib Al Hasan took 4 wickets and fast bowler Taskin Ahmed took the other wicket.
In the last afternoon, the visitors scored 45 runs without losing a wicket. Sadman Islam is unbeaten on 22 and Saif Hasan is unbeaten on 20.
