Rajpara Police have arrested a youth with the help of RMP Cyber ​​Crime Unit on charges of cheating using the name of Assistant Press Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office Ashraf Siddiqui Bitu.

The arrested is Sajjad Ali, 28, son of Idris Ali of Belgharia village under Durgapur police station in Rajshahi district. At present he was living as a tenant in Kazihata village of Rajpara police station. During this time 4 mobile phones and 1 laptop used for cheating were recovered from him.

According to sources, Mohiuddin Mahmud Joy alleged that Sajjad Ali had been calling himself Assistant Press Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office for a long time and had been soliciting various immoral benefits from ministers, MPs, central politicians and senior government officials. .

On July 27, Sajjad called Bhattacharya, the general secretary of the Central BCL, on his mobile phone and introduced himself as Assistant Press Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office. Ashraf Siddiqui introduced Bittu and wanted to know the date of announcement of the committee of Rajshahi District Chhatra League. A complaint was lodged at Rajpara police station in the wake of the incident.

Utpal Kumar Chowdhury, Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of RMP’s Cyber ​​Crime Unit, and his team verified the allegations. The accused was later identified with the help of information technology.

On Thursday, July 29, at 12:00 pm, a team of SI Abdullah Al Mamun and SI Maqbool Hossain of Rajpara Police Station conducted a sting operation and arrested Sajjad from his rented house.

The Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner confirmed that legal action has been taken against the arrested accused.
