KYENJOJO | A businessman from Bufunjo subcounty in Kyenjojo District is mourning the heinous murder of his five children reportedly slaughtered by thugs.
Joseph Tumwebaze was on a business trip to Kasese District on Wednesday when thugs broke into his home at around 1am, but in his absence, couldn’t find the money they wanted, according to Rwenzori West Regional Police spokesperson Lydia Tumushabe.
“The unknown thugs broke the door glasses and gained access into house, locked one Gerald Akampulira, a relative, into his room and entered Tumwebaze’s room where they found his wife,” Tumushabe said.
“They asked for the whereabouts of the husband and money, but he wasn’t in and the wife didn’t have the money.”
The thugs then turned their rage on the children, hacking to death Barbara Atuhaire (7), Oscar Alinganiza (4), Linet Ayinebyona (3), Davis Tulinomugisha (2) and a toddler Abwooli (one month).
Tumushabe said the attackers then beat up the wife and took and dumped her in Kawompo river from where she was rescued.
